The standard/average/normal height of a one-story/single-story building from road level is kept about 12 feet. If we build a least 2.5 ft extension of parapet wall on the edge of the roof, it will reach a height of 14.5 ft. Thus, a one-story building can go up to 14.5 feet without any problem.
However, if we want to build a taller structure, then it's better to get approval from local authorities for over-building. Also, people living near the building should not face any problems due to noise or pollution caused by construction activities.
The good news is that there is no minimum height requirement for buildings in India. So, you can build a structure as high as you like if it fits within other legal requirements.
Now, regarding the width, the standard depth is found to be about 20 feet, which allows easy parking inside the building. However, if you want to fit more vehicles, then you can increase the depth too. The maximum limit is determined by the government and cannot be exceeded.
The area required for a building depends on its type. If it is a two-storied building, then you need at least 50 square meters (about 538 sq ft) of floor space. For three-or-more-storied buildings, the amount increases to 200 square meters (about 2,152 sq ft).
A single-story house's average roof height is 1.5 ft + 10 ft + 0.5 ft = 12 ft. The average roof height of a one or two-story house should be roughly 12 feet from the ground. Because it gives aesthetic room, this height is regarded typical, average, nice, and pleasant. A one-story house can be any size between 12 and 18 feet high.
There are advantages and disadvantages to having a low-rise home. The main advantage is that they're easier to build. They require less structural material and fewer building permits than higher-rise homes. Low-rise homes are also cheaper to build. The major disadvantage is that there's not as much space inside them as larger houses with multiple stories.
Low-rise homes tend to have smaller rooms than other houses of their size and usually do not have basements or attics. Some have only one floor above ground level. Others have only one floor below ground level (in a basement). Still others have separate floors for living area and sleeping area. Each room has at least one door that opens onto the exterior of the house. There may be a window but it must be included in the door design in order to be considered part of the door frame.
The average price of a low-rise home is lower than that of a high-rise home of similar size and style because there's less work involved in construction.

According to the thumb rule, the typical roof height of a two-story or two-story house is kept approximately 21 feet high from road level. Thus, the average height of a house in India is about 21 feet.
There are few cities in India where you won't find at least one house taller than the rest. Mumbai has many skyscrapers - some as high as 49 stories - but they make up only 1% of the city's buildings. The other 99% are between 6 and 20 floors high. Goa also has its share of skyscrapers - six out of 11 buildings on the list - but they account for only 7% of the total number of houses in the state. The other 93% of houses are between 2 and 10 stories high.
In fact, most Indian cities have very tall buildings but they're usually limited to a small number of locations. Chennai has many skyscrapers in the central business district - 17 out of 40 buildings - but only a few others around the city. Delhi has several tall buildings as well, including three that rise over 100 meters (328 feet) - the highest points in the city. But they make up less than 1% of the total number of buildings. The other 99% of houses are between 5 and 15 stories high.
The height of each story of a structure is determined by ceiling height, floor thickness, and building material, with an average height of roughly 14 feet. Ceiling heights are the maximum heights allowed by law for buildings in most cities, so most buildings are less than 20 feet high.
Heights can be greater if there are more than one floor above ground level or if there's a mezzanine floor. The top of a building is called its roof. The overall height of a building, including its roof, is called the structure. The base of a building is the lowest floor. The term "ground floor" is used to describe the first floor of a building.
In general, taller buildings have higher ceilings, which allow for larger rooms. But room size isn't the only consideration when choosing dimensions for a building: If no parking is required for a one-story building, the lot can be smaller; a two-story building needs more space between floors to accommodate stairways and other amenities. A three-story building requires even more space due to increased traffic on the streets outside the building.
One significant advantage of taller buildings is that they tend to generate more income per square foot because of their higher ceiling prices.
