A ranch-style house, also known as a Rambler, is one-story and low to the ground, with a low-pitched roof that is generally rectangular, L-shaped, or U-shaped, and has deep overhanging eaves. It features wood floors, paneling, and chandeliers. The Texas rancher is similar to the California ranch, but it has been updated with modern amenities. There are several different ways to lay out the floors of a raised ranch house.
