One Canada Square is a skyscraper in London's Canary Wharf. It was finished in 1991 and is the third tallest building in the United Kingdom, standing 770 feet (235 meters) above ground level and contains 50 floors. The towering pyramid pinnacle rises 800 feet (240 meters) above sea level. The Canadian dollar sign is carved into the roof in reverse silhouette style.
Canada Square is a large public space, surrounded by high-rise office buildings, with fountains, trees, and monuments. It is located in the Royal Docks area on the north side of the River Thames, opposite Greenwich Peninsula. The square was created when the Canadian Embassy moved into its new building in 1992. The old embassy building had been destroyed by fire earlier that year.
Canary Wharf is a business district and major tourist attraction in East London, England, near the Isle of Dogs. It is known for its collection of skyscrapers and has become a major business centre as well as a popular location for television productions. The name "Canary Wharf" comes from the area once used by coal merchants to trade in canaries (birds used to detect gas bubbles in mines). Today, it is best known for its role as the European headquarters for the stock exchange company BATS Group LLC.
In 2016, an estimated cost of £9 billion had been spent on office developments in the area, making it one of the most expensive office areas in Europe.
One Canada Square/Constructions began in 1988. The Canadian-based Gowlings Inc. was the original contractor, but they were replaced by Skanska in 1994. The tower was opened by Queen Elizabeth II on 14 March 1996.
Canary Wharf Tower is one of the Bank of England buildings and has become a popular landmark for Londoners and visitors to the city. The main structure stands at a height of 468 feet (141 m) and has 32 floors. It is currently the second highest building in London and the 18th tallest building in the United Kingdom.
Canary Wharf Tower was designed by architect Sir Norman Foster with input from Mike Ashley of BDP Associates and David Meller of Meller LLP. The total cost of construction was estimated to be £150 million ($220 million).
Canary Wharf Tower is owned by Canary Wharf Group who purchased it in 1997. They also own three other large buildings on the site which include the 832-room Hotel Grand Canal Dock, the 509-room Hotel Herschel Park and the 533-room Hotel de Harwick.

St George Wharf Tower is a residential skyscraper in Sydney, Australia. It stands 181 meters (594 feet) tall and has 49 stories. The building was completed in 2008.
It is the tallest residential building in Australia and 11th-tallest in Oceania. The previous record holder was the Melbourne Tower, which stood for only nine years before it was demolished to make way for the Federation Square redevelopment project. The new tower will be another 100 metres (330 feet) high.
St George Wharf Tower is located at 150 Kent Street in the City West area of Sydney. The site covers an entire block between Victoria Street, Cambridge Street, Millers Point Road and Kent Street.
When it was under construction, it was known as the Capitol Theatre Project. The name change occurred after Australian entertainment company Village Roadshow purchased the site in 2006 for $55 million.
St George Wharf Tower contains 438 apartments over eleven floors plus a twelveteenth floor that is home to a restaurant and bar. There are also two underground levels with retail space below Grade 12.
The building's design includes features such as "solar pods" on some of its floors, which provide natural light and heat for up to four apartments.
As of 2020, there are 103 buildings or constructions in the Greater London metropolitan region that are at least 100 meters (328 feet) tall, with 22 of them in the City of London and 25 in the Canary Wharf/Isle of Dogs neighborhood. The tallest building in the UK is now under construction: SkyCity will be 101 m (328 ft).
This area of London has been developed into a financial district by the Canary Wharf Group. In fact, this group of companies is one of the largest developers in the UK. They have built several large office towers here, including some of the tallest buildings in Europe.
Canary Wharf has become a major business center, with more than 9 million square feet of offices space. It is also a popular destination for retail shopping. There are three main areas within Canary Wharf: Canada Water, which is located to the west of the Docklands Light Railway (DLR) station; Shell Haven, which is to the east of the DLR station; and North Greenwich, which is to the south of the DLR station.
There are public art installations throughout Canary Wharf. Two such works of art are located on the edge of Canada Water next to the O2 arena: One piece, called "The Living Colosseum" was created by British artist Richard Deacon and consists of a circle of 52 bronze tubes filled with trees and plants.
