A two-bedroom, two-bathroom house can be as little as 681 square feet and as large as 5,518 square feet. The median size is 1,142 square feet.
The smallest houses usually have between 400 and 500 square feet of living space while the largest houses can be as big as 2,000 square feet. Two-bedroom houses range in price from $75,000 to $750,000. It is not unusual for a two-bedroom house to cost more than one million dollars.
Even though most two-bedroom houses are around 1,000 square feet, it is important to remember that you are talking about a room size here. Not including hallways or other non-living areas, most houses are around 800 square feet so a 2,000-square-foot house would be 100% living space. Such houses usually have a family room or another large area that serves as a meeting place where families eat meals together at night after a hard day's work. This room would include a couch bed that could be used as a third bedroom if needed. They usually do not have any closets for such a bed so it would be easy for parents to know who was using it.

Square footage figures above include plumbing and heating facilities but not appliances or decorations. Approximate room sizes are also inaccurate because walls are usually less than six feet high and builders often use space efficiently by installing doors that are only slightly more than half-width. A full-size bed requires approximately 65 square feet of space.
Household items such as furniture and dishes take up space too. The total volume of goods stored in American homes is about 2.5 billion cubic feet. That's enough space to stack CDs from California to New York every mile along the equator five miles deep.
Builders typically provide fewer than 20 square feet of space per person in homes. This is much less than the amount of space recommended by architects to accommodate daily life activities such as eating, reading, and sleeping.
The average household has more than one bathroom on site. Bathrooms are used mostly to wash hands and face, but they can also be used for bathing children or adults.

There are approximately 612 square inches of carpeting in the apartment. This works out to about 1 square foot of carpeting per 10 square feet of floor space. Carpeting takes up less space on the floor and makes walking easier for people with limited mobility. It also adds to the living room's comfort factor because it reduces the amount of material between you and the heating/air conditioning system.

The appeal of the 2300–2400 square foot home is that it has at least three bedrooms, a separate dining room or study, and a master suite with a huge bathroom and a walk-in closet. This house type is ideal for families who want more space than a two-bedroom home provides.
In general, people think that if you make a home bigger, it will be better suited to fit all your needs. But this isn't always the case! A large home may cost more to maintain and heat/cool. If you have a large family or get along with large furniture, a big house can be a problem too - because there's no getting out of it!
A larger home might also mean that you don't use some of the rooms that you build. For example, if you have a large family but only need one bedroom for each child, you're wasting money building spaces that will never be used. You can avoid this by choosing a house size that fits your needs.
Finally, a large home means that you don't have to worry about parking spaces. However, if you work outside of your home and have guests over frequently, this could be a problem. You would need a garage or driveway space for every extra person that wants to drive up.
